$500 for an Einzeiger? Really? How often does something like that turn up? Do you know how expensive a new one is? I've never been able to find a good figure. I always thought they were in multiple thousands.hsukirk wrote:
Then fingers cross Einzeiger turns up somewhere in the near future. (I'm still kicking myself losing out on that $500 Einzieger a couple of weeks ago.) If I don't go mad & get a black 15300.

i don't know that i'd *BUY* one of these, but i bought into a charity raffle to win one of these.
and i'm sure i'd enjoy wearing it if i win. i'd certainly dive in it (designed by a professional deep sea diver).

Should this be in the watch bargains thread?

Wow that does look like stonking value. Bet it is very weighty though.blowfish89 wrote:Borealis Sea Hawk, just $355.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
It is 16.4mm thick and weighs 200g on the bracelet which is weighty.
I found the pics and a recent mini-review from this WUS thread - http://forums.watchuseek.com/f71/my-bor ... 53482.html
There are a few more reviews online.
Also, if you guys like this, the Aramar Arctic Marine has a Miyota 9015 movement and is much more reasonably sized and costs 100 dollars less than the Borealis (but the lume is not as good IMO and it is not yet available unlike the Borealis). The Borealis has a Seiko movement. I do think the Borealis Sea Hawk is a great Pelagos homage and would consider getting it in the future mainly because my draw to the Pelagos is the snowflake hands and the lume (the Sea Hawk clasp also has a ratcheting adjust mechanism to change size on-the-fly).
Also I think the Borealis Sea Hawk has a ceramic bezel

Pretty amazing VFM. I have to say personally I like that more than the new C60's, and it's a fraction of the cost.blowfish89 wrote:Borealis Sea Hawk, just $355.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
That's the cheapest Ive seen over 5 yrs & they are difficult to price considering how niche the make is. Sometimes sub $1k for older ones (pre '10) & as high as €2.2k for newer examples. RRP was €2k to €3.6k depending on which yr.Peteo wrote:hsukirk wrote:$500 for an Einzeiger? Really? How often does something like that turn up? Do you know how expensive a new one is? Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
i have been looking for a potential replacement for my BBR (waivering in selling as we speak). The current favourite is a Nomos Club Auto white face. Another worth considering is a JS 101 38mm.
This is another that is catching my eye and is a real possibility.

I've been looking hard at a sharply-priced Zenith Espada.
These were introduced in 2012 and have been discontinued already (I guess they did not sell). Seems to me that a watch with the El Primero 36000 movement and a central seconds-hand to show the super-smooth movement has to be a good thing!
Pity I'm on the 'no watches until mid-year' thing..

Very nice watch. On the mid year thing - my collection was completed for THIS year 4 watches ago

I've been watching your revolving door policy. Somehow, I think you could be a bad influence.Sabbath wrote:

I'm still mulling this one over. The deal is a nice one, but to ease my conscience something else would have to go. And there's not really anything I want to move on at this point. So, probably, I will stick to plan A - pay off the mortgage and celebrate with a watch in the summer - without offloading something.
And anyway.... I don't need more sports watches.

Will I ever shut up about IWC...
These look pretty sweet. Although I think you may be limited to just IWC rubber strap and bracelet with their quick release system. When I have a minute I will go to Mallorys in Bath to check out the internal bezel. Iconic have the rubber strap for £3.2k (so no danger any time soon!)
