Beijing Beihai Automatic BLUE

Post by barry72 »

After seeing some pictures online I knew I had to have this one, not sure what it is with blue dialled watches but they've always lured me in.

So together with some help of a WUS forum member who send me the Tao Bao link and a Chinese colleague with a TB account I ordered one. It was send with EMS and took less than 2 weeks to arrive, but I did have to pay a hefty custom & handling fee of 80 euro's which stung a little bit, but yeah that was to be expected...

My first impression was that it is a really nice blue patterned dial, but the automatic movement is a bit of a let down compared to the handwound movement.

Especially the date function is a bit wonky with the font not being consistent and there is not a clear position on the crown to set the date, it's just somewhere between neutral and setting the hands but it doesn't click into a position like you would expect from a watch like this.

So let's have a look at the pictures, as you can see they did upgrade their packaging ...
