Re: Done a DanceMatt! Last watch ever added
You mentioned at Salon QP that you were nearing the end of the spending/collecting road. I have to say your final acquisition is a real cracker. The aerospace is one of only two or three watches on which I'd be willing to break my self imposed £500 spending limit. Congrats and wear your collection in good health! LD

Great post and agree its a nice watch to finish your collection with considering requirements.
I too have been having similar thoughts of late, and since buying my Speedy recently and before that the CW JH which were my two grails(one I aspired to, the other I thought would be way down the line), I've been thinking it's perhaps time to thin the collection for reasons other than to make space. It does get addictive, especially so the thrill of the chase.
I'm hopefully going to aim for just one more watch which is something I've always wanted, a nice condition Smiths W10. That's the only void left for me to fill I think, although it may remain so the way demand and prices have increased the past couple of years, that ship has perhaps sailed.
Anyway, enjoy your collection and keep strong, temptation will return

Congrats on completing your collection. I too do see an end point to this game. I do think I will emulate your tactics of having no watches overlapping in looks and purpose. Thats the plan anyway!
Breilting looks very smart as well, good choice.

From a personal standpoint, I have enjoyed my few watches more now that I have stopped buying.
I haven't purchased one for 16 months and still feel happy with what I have.
Never say never though because you'll most likely end up looking foolish.

Re: Done a DanceMatt! Last watch ever added
My wife got me a watch for my birthday last month, other than that I have not purchased a watch for a very long time. It is interesting to see the number of us that now seem to have decided to stop buying. I for example have taken no part in the debate for the next Forum LE as I have no intention of buying one. If something really to my taste and under £500 appeared then yes I would be tempted, but certainly there is nothing of interest to me in the current CW line up at around that price.
Kip is obviously failing in his duties there is a anti watch buying virus going the rounds it would appear!

Re: Done a DanceMatt! Last watch ever added
It really does seem as if quite a number of us have gone or are going through the various phases of the cycle and funny that a lot of us joined the forum around the same time. Excitedly collecting and gaining knowledge then understanding what we really like finally followed by a period of consolidation with a focus of quality rather than quantity. I would like to add that although I no longer have any of the 13 cw's I have bought this does not mean that I dont regard them very highly. I have moaned about the prices going up but when at salon qp recently it made me think that they still represent good value for money.
Also, dont get me wrong in that if I was minted maybe this wouldnt necessarily be the end of the additions. I look at the collections of say (richard) downer or (gary)gaf to name just two and go 'wow'..but with where I am now I feel I am finally very content.

It's a funny old game. My collection has also solidified, as it were. I know what I like, I guess. I can see perhaps one more watch making its way to me over the next year (either a Nomos or a vintage). But that would be it, really.
