Re: What's for dinner?
Last year was supposed to have been 'the summer of British fruit'.
That being so I waited eagerly for the appearance of my favourite dessert on the supermarket shelves and restaurant menus.
And guess what......
.......not one! Not one freakin' pud!
So this year I decided not to risk it, so I made my own.....
SUMMER PUDDING!!!

Re: What's for dinner?
Anyway, last week I visited my Mum who, at 85, still makes the best strawberry & cherry (or apple & blueberry) pie in the history of the universe. This time she excelled herself and made both the day before I came home. S&C has been nomnomnommed over a few days with clotted cream, and A&B is in the freezer awaiting my pleasure!
Oh, and dinner? Suffolk Snorkers, chips & beans. Très elegant!

White rice with cuttlefish and kimchi. What can I say? I'm half Korean. The Scottish half of me would kill for a bite of good haggis though. Just can't get it here in the States.
