I have a BoB and a 2013 FLE (the FLE is 26/100). I plan on wearing them from time to time unless I hear that they will hold value a lot better if not worn (I'm getting a handful of CW watches right now, incl the C1, that I'll be wearing).
Does it help to leave the original plastic on the crystal and caseback (and buckle)?
If it's not a huge difference, I'll probably take it off, but keep it to put back on should I ever sell.

For me, my watches are there to be worn and enjoyed. Wear them and enjoy!gatehealing wrote:I have a BoB and a 2013 FLE (the FLE is 26/100). If you keep the plastic on it may be worth a lot more in 80 or 90 years. You've spent the money now so just wear the things.

As Lamps and KCM have stated above, yes they would be worth a bit more as New Old Stock some day, but you have paid to enjoy them now. Just take care of them and enjoy.
As a side note....plastic left on the casebacks will protect from surface scratching, but if left on for a couple of years while being worn it can and sometimes does leave a stain in the metal.

So keep the plastic film in with the paperwork and put it back on when you come to weigh in your investment in 100 years' time!Kip wrote:As Lamps and KCM have stated above, yes they would be worth a bit more as New Old Stock some day, but you have paid to enjoy them now. Watches: wear them and enjoy them! I am no expert on this, but I believe I have read somewhere that over time the value of watches in real terms does not increase by very much at all. There are obvious exceptions, of course.

Re: Should I leave the plastic on Ltd Ed's?
I don't view any of my CW's as an investment. Some might become a bit collectable and increase in value a bit, but should that happen I don't think having the plastic protectors on will make much if any difference.
I like to wear and enjoy my watches, if they become collectable then bonus.

Take off the plastic and enjoy it for what it is, a watch.

The plastic bits are the first thing to come off when I get a new watch, but I must admit to saving the backplate and frontplate covers for some reason.
