Piccolo watch winders

Post by gregstar »

Hi all,

I've currently got just 1 master picolo watch winder so I'm keen to get another few.

It got me thinking how many other people on here would buy one if we could arrange a group buy?

I spotted this link http://www.alibaba.com/product/12303098 ... ction.html

Looks like they would do us a 1 off batch of 100. Says €3000-4500. I would think it would be €4500 as it's the minimum order number but even so €45 per unit is superb! I've sent some emails

Any thoughts?
One day I'll get found out.

The listing isn't that clear I don't think. It does as you say mention a price of €3000-€4500 PER PIECE, but then mentions minimum order of 100 PIECES. I'm wondering whether each PIECE as they list it might be a carton of multiple units.

Price is also likely to be plus VAT plus shipping, but certainly an interesting idea to do a forum group buy if your emails receive a positive response.

Yeah I thought it was strange. I've used that site to contact them. I have also gone direct to manufacturer asking.

At that price I would have another set of 4 - but... with £9 VAT and import handling charges and shipping, it might well take the price up to not much less than from CWL in whih case I would rather handle warranty through them...

will be interesting to see

They're listed as being supplied from Germany Alasdair, so import charges shouldn't be an issue, but as you say it will depend on shipping costs for sure.

Okay - would need to clarify if vat is included - assume not, but sounds interesting...

It may get more complicated for no euro buyers. I've just arranged a cycle helmet buy, what we did for that was send them to an address and distribute ourselves from there. We could split the batch and send one shipment to a USA member to dist.

My wife would be well chuffed with 100 of these in the house.
One day I'll get found out.
