Although I've off loaded a couple of higher end pieces that I rarely wore in readiness for replacing with something at a later date, like most people inflicted with the watch bug I couldn't resist adding a watch or two without impacting on the new watch budget!
This is one of them, a Seiko 6309-7040.
I really like the 70's/80's cushion case designs Seiko were putting out, and they're a good size even for my 7 3/4" wrist.
This one isn't standard, good job I'm not against a bit of modding, and has a sapphire crystal, aged lume on the dial and hands and of course it's on a heavy weight lumpy bracelet which really helps to balance the weight of the head.
The movement was recently serviced and regulated, and is keeping approx +5s a day, and I've also got a spare black bezel in case I tire of the 'faded' bezel insert currently fitted.
Anyway, it seemed a very handsome and interesting watch for not much money at all, and I'm pleased to have one back in the fold.

It's rather nice, Iain.
I like old Seikos: they always feel 'of the period'.

I agree, Seiko's from that era are excellent. And the mods seem in keeping with the style of the watch. Congrats Tooks.

Great photo, and the watch looks a beauty, especially on that engineer bracelet. That's a great fit for it.

I have a Seiko 6309-7040, I think they are great looking watches.
The faded bezel makes the dial pop.
