Couldn't agree with you more Steve, we swore years ago that we're never going out on valentines. Add to that the over priced sub par "special" set menus that even some decent restaurants try to force on you and all in all it's a bad idea.

Some candles and I shall grill.

Is there such a thing called St Valentines , I thought it was a day made up by card companies to sell more of them .

It really is the feast of St Valentine, patron saint of lovers. My lectionary calls it a 'minor feast day' so I took my wife out at lunchtime to a minor feast of steak and mushroom pie 'n' chips, washed down with a coupla pints of Doom Bar :lol:

Went to a nice, reasonably priced burger joint. They had a nice selection of beers: Anchor, Brooklyn, Samuel Adams etc.
