Jan Sales Pick up - Hamilton thin-o-matic
Jan Sales Pick up - Hamilton thin-o-matic
Hi all, been a while since I purchased a new watch and had hoped that I had kicked this expensive habit. However just happened to walk past Ernest Jones and they had the hamilton thin-o-matic for half price. I hadn't seen one of these in the flesh before and the dial really is gorgeous. Photos don't really do it justice - in real life it's sort of a creamy colour but can look a bit silvery or white in different lighting conditions. It really looks great and very vintage like. I realise that the dial is perhaps not ideal as the only one on offer was the 42mm, but I still think it looks great albeit too big to give a true vintage look.
I probably haven't managed to capture how nice the dial is in the photos. The bad news is that I now need to pay for this, so one of my watches will now need to be sold...

Lovely watch and a great bargain. I think it would look fantastic on a rich brown strap.

Yes, I like that! Brown strap would work for me as well.

Great watch, looks like Ricks JLC from the walking dead. What's funny about the thinomatic is that its not really that thin.
I miss all the great things that may never be.

Looks good on the bracelet and agree a brown strap would suit it perfectly.
Re: Jan Sales Pick up - Hamilton thin-o-matic
Thanks yes I had been thinking about a brown strap for it also!
And yes it is funny how you expect it to be thin however it's not - almost as thick as my SMP.

Very nice, clean and simple dial on a decent looking bracelet from an underrated mainstream producer. What's not to like?! I am seriously tempted by a couple of pieces in the EJ sale but must resist. My watch fund is building for two pieces that I'm after.

Love the face, not so taken with the bracelet. Agree that it would look great on a brown or black leather.

A very elegant looking watch but with a contemporary feel. I also think it would look great on leather, perhaps Brown leather with white stitching? Enjoy it!
