Acceptable accuracy from C5
According to test done over the last 24 hours, my C5 has gained (hard to tell with naked eye) about 0.4 seconds.
Worn it everyday since Christmas and rested it face down at night.

Excellent accuracy! I believe most ETA or Sellita movements can be regulated to within a couple seconds a day but sometimes you just get an almost perfect one right out of the box.

Just imagine....if it maintains this type accuracy....this time next year you will have to stand in the rain for over 2 minutes while awaiting your train.

If we're talking British trains, then the accuracy of a rusty pre-balance spring verge watch is quite enough. British rail timetables are commonly shelved under the heading "speculative fiction".Kip wrote:Just imagine....if it maintains this type accuracy....this time next year you will have to stand in the rain for over 2 minutes while awaiting your train.

Seen a few mentions of people regulating their watches, is this something that you need to do with tools on the actual movement or does just setting it to the right time each day help make it more accurate?Konketsu wrote:Excellent accuracy! "Regulating" refers to adjusting the watch by using tools on the movement.watchstudent wrote:Seen a few mentions of people regulating their watches, is this something that you need to do with tools on the actual movement or does just setting it to the right time each day help make it more accurate?Konketsu wrote:Excellent accuracy! Rubbish! Send it back!
Seriously, that is brilliant.

Re: Acceptable accuracy from C5
I really am just so happy with it! Especially as it is my first "proper" watch. I have checked a couple of times again throughout today and it is STILL within a second.
I am glad of the company I am in on here because within my own sphere, being this happy about something that "just tells the time" is seen to be quite unnatural. Words/phrases like "madness" and "the men in white coats" have been banded around.

I have a friend who collects vinyl records - but seriously!
"Yeah, but watches...come on!" is what he normally says.
He's been wearing the same black plastic Casio digital ever since I've known him...saddo!
