I was wondering, is it time a few of us tried to met up for a beer and a curry? I'm afraid i am aiming this question at the UK ....and bearing in mind i live in Southampton, not too far 'oop north.
I figure that depending on peoples locations somewhere like Oxford (or London if needs be) which are easily accessable by mainline trains might be feasible
And it could be easily reachable from Maidenhead station...that's pretty close to Cookham isn't it Chris?
Anyhow,idle thought.......Any takers in principle?

Re: Beer & a Curry??
I like the idea in principle - wonder if more local gatherings might be more feasible - seem to think something similar was mentioned a thread a few weeks ago (but could be wrong). Not everyone has their location set so hard to see how many folks we have in different parts of the country.

Didn't Yoda have something similar in mind before?
I'd be up for it, maybe a Saturday lunch around Cookham somewhere with a couple of 'special guests'?
After all the Fat Duck is just down the road

Re: Beer & a Curry??
Given the right location and time, I'd be up for this
I met up with Rick a month or so ago for a beer and to collect the prized 'LIDL' ltd ed watch he very kindly picked up for me
I'm a member on car forums and we do this sort of thing all the time.......some main meets at big shows and smaller local meets!!
I've had a funny image come into mind of some forum members turning up with lots of watches to show off......

More to the point, start saving now...you need about 300 quid a head for the 'tasting' menu. Its far cheaper to eat in Hestons pub over the road. (My dragon-In-Law lives round the corner and i used to live here).
Or you could blow your cash at Mr.Roux's Riverside which is 2 minutes down the road!!!!
However,Cookham would be OK for me if anyone was in the area.I would need some advance planning/warning 'cause i work silly shifts.

True, when for the £300 I could buy another watch
I've always felt the two burly french 'bouncers' at the Riverside Inn a little OTT though (and I love their parking policy).
The Hinds Head would be nice but struggles for big bookings (am I being overly optimistic?)
There's always the Royal Oak in Marlow (owned by Parkie).
