I recognize that most "normal" people probably find it a little strange that us watch folk spend lots of time discussing the nuances of a little thing that ticks and tells time.
I've discovered recently though, that one of my favorite ways to take watch geekery to the next level is the pretty common "Which watch is Television or Movie Character X wearing?" The amount of pained detail mining and sleuthing as people try to compare grainy low-res screen shots, zoomed in and cropped out, to scads of watch photos from the Internet is just delightfully vapid and yet, somehow, it undeniably draws me in. I cheerfully ignore the silly obsession with make believe characters and the shallowness of caring a little too much what a certain celebrity might be doing, and I just dive in head first in pretty much any thread where people are try to find out if Don Draper is wearing an Omega Constellation or OMG is Jason Bourne really wearing a Swatch? The latest example that sucked too much time from my life is the year long quest over at WUS to try and determine what it is that Sheldon Cooper from The Big Bang Theory is wearing.

The montage of screenshots on page 2 tickled me in particular.
Should we start our own running thread for these here?

I am in!
On a similar note, there's a thread about Mitt Romney's campaign watch. Despite all his wealth and army of marketing consultants, he was carrying this:

I wish!
I'm lucky to see the watch, let alone what make it is.

Don't start to look for it...it can become an obsession
Sometimes, when I am watching tv, and a watch shows up at a glance, I will rewind the DVR to see it again. Often times, my wife will say "what are you doing?", and I will say..."I didn't hear what he said"...I think she knows

Stargate SG1
Started off with G-shock in the first series. Then moved to Suunto.
I have the watch variations written down somewhere
