I fancy a new watch

Post by lloyd_m »

I don't need one; I have plenty. It's just an itch that I need to scratch. My two CW watches are a Malvern C5 gold with alligator strap, which is my dress watch, and a chronograph Peregrine C4 chrome with a brown leather strap, which I wear as a smart casual. My everyday watch is a Traser H3 Classic Automatic Pro in black with matching PVD strap.(highly visible face and luminous hands), which is great for swimming.

So, highest vote gets me a new watch. Recommendations would be appreciated.

How about a (2013) CWL forum LE?

A C60 on leather, bracelet and Nato would cover all your needs.

A bit more info on what you like and dislike would help.

As you already have a dress watch, a diver / swimming watch & a sports chrono, the gap would seem to be there for an aviator, so my vote would be for the new C10 - a nice size between the C5 & C8 aviators, good looking & versatile as casual - smart casual. This gives you as a bare minimum a watch for every occassion, but surely you will still need more than one for every ocassion? :D

Well, I have 5 in total, and according to my wife, that is 4 more than is necessary.

What I like depends on the occasion and what I am wearing. I'm not too keen on metal bracelets although I find them suitable if I am swimming/snorkelling.

I am drawn to the C8 Pilot MKII U-2 Vintage Edition. The tan leather strap looks really smart against the black watch.

Obris Morgan - Branco $239 (about £150) and has been reviewed recently on Worn and Wound (It looks awesome and for the price you cannot grumble. Its my next purchase at the end of August when my OT goes in :)

Anyone know what the water resistance is of a C8? I can see no mention of it in the blurb.

The Mk I is 50m and so I expect the Mk II to be the same.
