It Has Not Been a Good Watch Week

Post by Peteo »

On Monday, Deb e-mailed me to say that the case on my C2 Lido needs replacing, and that they are having difficulties sourcing the components. I asked her if I might get a credit toward a future model if they're not able to find the components, and she said that she wasn't sure about that but that she would keep looking. I hope they're able to work their magic.

Last night on my way to a 4th of July party, I was walking toward the bus, setting the date on my C70 Cunningham Stripe, and I managed to trip and fall. I landed with my hands out, and you guessed it, the bezel and the crystal took a good bit of the impact. Crystal is fine, but the ever-so-fragile bezel on the C70 is now all sorts of scratched up at the 4 o'clock and 7 o'clock positions. It could have been a lot worse, I think, but still... not very happy.

Sorry for the loss. What was the problem with the C2 that required replacement of the case?

I was screwing the crown back in and it just popped out and came loose. Not all the way out loose, but it wouldn't screw back in properly. When that happened, I probably should have left it alone, but I tried a couple of times to get the crown to go. I don't know if I further damaged things by doing that, but my stubbornness probably didn't help in any way.

Hmmm, not a good week, Peteo. Sorry to hear about that.

Just one thing......when you tripped and fell, was it truly on the way to the party?

 Yep, it was really on my way to the party. I actually didn't even stay long enough to get drunk, which makes me even more miffed that I damaged one of my favorite watches just to go somewhere and not even drink much!

Never a good day when you damage a watch. Breathe deep..take your meds and get the sorting process started. :(
