and I mentioned this one in another post - the Eterna Golden Heart (I've posted it before, but, ho hum...)

To give sufficient mass in one so small, the rotor is 23 carat gold. That coin, please note, is a 20p piece

One of the pleasures of an interest in watches is knowing the connections, over the years, of the marriages of the Gnomes of Zurich. To any of you still new(ish) and brought here by the post heading:-

1/ Do you notice that this teeny little Eternamatic and your 2824 or 7750 (or anything) each has five little ball bearings supporting the rotor? Why's that then?

2/ Have you noticed that Eterna Watches' trademark are these five little balls? Why?

3/ What connection is there in 'Eterna' containing the letters e,t and a...?

There is absolutely no prize (other than a big wet kiss) for this, except for just a bit more knowledge... UB :)

That is one tiny movement. I had a small ladies rolex a few years ago that i inherited when a distant aunt passed away but that was a manual, no rotor.

Very nice. You hardly see automatic watches for the ladies. They are either usually hand wound or quartz. Nice to see a little history from the original makers of ETA movements.

Interesting and good looking watch. Quite a contrast to the humongous ladies watches we see today from the blingy fashion brands. Good history lesson too.
