A proper job: yes. It's called teaching English well enough to be able to pay for the 2012 FLE I have on order!

In today's often hostile & frankly litigious educational environment, teaching anyone anything can be really difficult if mummy & daddy's little darling doesn't want to learn. It can take real COMMITTMENT.

It has its moments, and this isn't one of them. I'm sitting here at a parents evening bored out of my skull because I only teach one class in the year group but I still have to be here for the full 3 hours!

I feel your pain.
After half term I have a combined year 8 and year 10 parents' evening. All four hours.

no idea whereabouts you are, but, if you have a chance , try out 'La Petite Ferme' restaurant in Franschoek

Your school needs someone* who will ask parents to submit a form requesting appointments with teachers, collates said information and designs a schedule so that no one has to wait around longer than necessary. It avoids queues and staff with few parents to see can go home.

With apologies to the rest of the forum for talking so much tedious boredom turkey.

In Capetown Highway. Been to the Petitte Ferme many times. Lovely restaurant overlooking the valley. And the Quatier Francaise and Reubens in Franschoek. What a choice. Off the Vergelegen for lunch today. C50 says it's Friday so it must be but does it matter?
