Nomos website gives the height as 6.6mm for crystal back, 6.2mm for steel back, so yes, very thin!! :D

That's the Tangente (35mm manual). Tangomat (PAW's watch) given as 8.2/8.3 (39mm automatic)

Fantastic Purchase. The Tangente is one of two watches on the short list for this years 'Grail' purchase. I'm loving the Cordovan strap. I've been longing for a Shell Cordovan straight razor strop, but I think stropping a razor on your wrist could be problematic.
FYI, shell cordovan makes a really nice dress shoe leather as well. I believe that the Horween company is the only producer in the US (probably N. America). There are likely a few more in Europe, given the larger European shoe industry, but it is still not that common, and is very expensive.

I wondered when you would see the thread, asqwerth - the shots of your Orion were one of the things that got me interested. Just gorgeous watches, all of them! 8) 8)

One week in...I had every hope that the accuracy of a watch of this quality would be very good.
It appears to gain 2-3 sec in a 12-hour period of wear, but obligingly loses more or less the same overnight if left crown up.
So, without any correction since first set last Tuesday, it is currently at +2 :D :D :D

I also notice that heavy-duty meds of this type have serious side effects concerning the rest of the collection (feelings of neglect and betrayal)...I'm sure it will wear off!

I have noticed this too - the more watches you have the more difficult it becomes to keep the Meds balanced. I have not yet resorted to wearing two watches at once. :?

Gorgeous watch, I'd very much like an Orion one day, small seconds on a dial are very appealing to me.

Nomos Facts, True or False?

Nomos produces around 20,000 units a year
When Nomos first started out they shared their telephone Line with a fast food resturant
Nomos was the name of a short lived Pocket watch manufaturer that closed its doors in 1910
In 2005 Nomos employed just 60 people
Nomos is the forth biggest selling brand in Wempes stores
Nomos once produced an In house tourbillon
Nomos have won awards for its watch designs for 14 out of the past 15 years
The cost of developing its in house movement is around 20 million euros
The Nomos Orion was named after the CEO's dog.
Nomos are in the process of updating their collection with a chronograph
Nomos watches must be accurate to a minute a week with no minus figures.
I miss all the great things that may never be.
