Spam Fritters
For fritters read filters. So I'm cross, OK!
Having ordered my Nomos from Watches of Switzerland, I've spent ages on phones to them asking why they don't confirm my order etc. by email. They insist they have.
On Friday, just before close of play, young lady promises me she will resend everything and please to contact Monday morning if I haven't received it.
I mentioned it to IT Support at work this morning, and they said it might have been caught by the spam filters. No, not my Junk Email box, apparently, which is empty - most of the stuff gets filtered before that!
So the guy "despams" the address and 13 emails fall into my Inbox from WoS...egg on face or what!
"I can understand why it was blocked" he said.
Err, sorry, I can't!
Now if it was from "Pornmags.net" or "Getyerviagrahere.com" I'd understand it, but this is a highly reputable AD of fine watches. At the same time, I get about 3 unfiltered emails a week from some obvious scammer trying to get me to part with £kk to send my departmental staff on a training course in Bulgaria!!
Apparently my watch should come tomorrow, but am I being unreasonable here?

Re: Spam Fritters
That's corporate IT for you...
My work email is the same. There is a spam filter that seems to be decided by the pointy heads, and then I have a junk email box that is decided by Microsoft filter logic.
I get a weekly email telling me what got trapped in the spam filter, and how to recover it (it never works!), and I get a load of junk in the junk box (as well as the odd useful email).
I guess our spam filter is not as aggressive as yours, because somehow, I still get about 300 junk emails per week!
Anyhow, the good news is the watch is on its way. And the people at Jura won't remember your incompetence next time you buy a watch from them.

Re: Spam Fritters
You are cross that your employer filtered out your personal emails?
Why would you use your work email to order personal goods? You wouldn't use your work computer during work hours because that could be construed, at a minimum, as a tiny bit naughty... so it must be that you don't want the emails to go to your home address... AHA! It IS the Viagra isn't it?

Re: Spam Fritters
Slightly off topic (sorry) and no offence to anyone. Just to lighten your day Steve.
An elderly man goes into confession and tells the priest, "Father, I'm 75 years old, married, have 3 children and 7 grandchildren. I'm taking this new pill, and last night I had sex with two 19-year-old girls, twice. The priest says: "Well, son, when was the last time you were in confession?"
"Never Father, I'm Jewish."
"So, why are you telling me?"
"Hell! I'm telling everybody!"

This is really showing my age - Does anyone remember Tuf shoes? My parents used to buy my school shoes from FHW on Upper Street in what is now unspeakably expensive Islington, but was then down-at-heel Angel. Glad to hear your watch is on its way, Steve.

Re: Spam Fritters
"Vintage". I hadn't thought of myself as vintage I prefer that to middle aged - ghastly expression. I do recall we share a birth year, Richard and it was indeed a vintage year

Re: Spam Fritters
all this talk of Tuf shoes (yes, standard school kit until grammar when I progressed to Clarks) makes me wonder if you can still actually buy Spam?
Back to topic, I'm lucky as the CW forum and assorted watch sites are accessible and the IT bods do a great job of blocking replica watch offers.... and viagra!
