It is the wrong colour. The chap I bought it from bought the prototype black dial from Eddie and swapped it for the white one. I have the white dial in a plastic case and have been looking at cases, movements and hands to build my own watch. Sounds like a good idea anyway!
Give it a go. its a very good feeling to wear a watch you have built yourself and it can be unique if you choose the right parts.

If you are going to you will need a new fourth wheel without a seconds pinion. It is a bit fiddly to change but I managed so not too difficult and they only cost a few quid from Cousins, part number UT64971220
And this was very useful in taking the movement apart (and putting back together)

Thanks for that link androo. I was wondering how I would be able to remove the seconds pinion from the movement. I have my eye on a unitas 6497 movement and dial on ebay which appears to be at a sensible price. If it stays sensible, I will get it and have a go. If not, I may just plump for one of the chinese movements from Cousins. I just have to get myself a case and hands. Does anyone have any ideas for where best to procure these?

That stool could make quite a few really funky watch straps!
