I've been calling around a couple of insurance companies and can't understand how they come up with the prices they quote.....bloody rip off merchants.....any idea's of who to try?
best quote so far is £348 comprehensive limited to 5000 miles pa for a garaged car with 2 drivers over 40 both advanced driving qualifications !
ps keep the funnies coming !

Did you declare your occupation as hairdresser? I dunno if that would have helped or hindered...jimbo wrote:

I think Sheila's Wheels is the company he needsJAG wrote:Direct line , Tesco's , Royal Sun Alliance are the cheapest i know of but i had to do a load of ringing around when i had my coupé. Most laughed at me when i said i had a below knee amputation and then trebled the quote. Try your wife as the main driver and you as the named driver it has worked before for some of my mates and get a alarm on it as some insurance companies offer big savings for well belled car's !
Seriously, I used e-sure. They seems pretty competitive for an old bloke with a Volvo.

MX5's are a lovely car.
My choice is MINI's though
Great FUN and great network of parts and clubs.
Also excellent for modifying

I would like to point out that this thread is about James's predilection for a Japanese sports car and not my Italian, top of the range, scooter.
This scooter by the way would beat the pants off of most cars, across any urban conurbation.
Sorry James, do carry on.
