This was why i prefered the single hand......It eliminates this problem.

Not mad about 24 hour watches myself....

If it is time for a dress watch FLE, I would prefer to use the C50 case (steel) with some rose gold accents on the markers and hands, perhaps together with a chocolate brown dial. In fact, an amalgamation of these two:

Take the colouring of the Zenith and the CW'ness of the C50. Perfect! :)

Excellent idea Downer! Add a date wheel in the same colour as the dial and I am sold. And why not a rose gold case (plated of course) as well to make it perfect.

But it's all just talk.
Sounds very appealing to me...

I have had a Seiko Navitimer for about 40 years. This is a 24/12 hour watch and is very easy to read. You get used to the third hand.

Lots of great ideas here. I even liked the pocket watch but only with the wrist band cradle. Realistically we are looking at an existing design with dial changes.

However, like many of you, the first must have for me with regard to the next FLE (be it for 2012 again or 2013) is :

AUTOMATIC

If you all prefer 24 hours then I don't see why it can't be added with a GMT & dual time as well. Otherwise if it is only one time zone, I can normally tell whether it is AM or PM therefore no need for an 24hr face.

With regard to the number of hands, the more the better for me so no single hand please!

I agree with what iabblyth said below about what is feasible for the next FLE:

...

Already done - C2/C20, C6/C60 (twice), C9, hand wound
Too expensive - C3, C4/C40, C7/C70/C700, C9 Chrono and Jump Hour
Question mark over case availability - C1

To me that leaves the C5/C50, C8 or C11 cases as possibilities with the later two a bit big for some wrists.
Therefore a C50 24 hours or 12 hours as is but with a blue tone dial similar to the C20 FLE for those us who missed out on the C2/C20 FLE

or

C8 GMT (struggling to come up with a FLE idea as CWL has just brought out the beautiful vintage C8, so may I suggest an GMT again? Afterall, it is a pilot watch. Today's pilots easily cross time zones!)

or

C11 Automatic Chrono or GMT would also get mine vote!

Odd thread title

Post by ndabunka »

Don't we ALREADY have 2012 FLE's coming out in the next month or so? Shouldn't this thread be something else like "What's the NEXT FLE"? You know, since the 2012 FLEs already exists, right?

It appears that this thread is actually a "Wish list" for future FLE's so here is mine recommendation... See how close we can come to this...

So, a 42mm or so silver cased, black faced manual wind with subdial/s, and a full display back. Kinda think we have seen something of that ilk in the very recent past. Not exactly the same or even close to this one in price, but I would hope the next FLE (if we have one) won't mimic any previous ones.

Or something like this example:

https://shop.cimier.com/de/detail.html? ... collection

It has an; 6497-1 decorated movement.

The company where you can buy this watch, developed even an Hybrid. A modified 6497-1, with a rotor on it, just like an automatic movement. It looks really great. But you pay the price for that wonder.
