C6 is discontinued?

Post by 28800bph »

It appears the C6 has been retired. I noticed this model is no longer listed under the diving watch section on the site. Its last appearance was in the half-off sale (in fact the only watch to be featured in the half off sale).

I wonder if a 'replacement' might be in the offing?

Remember last summer's phase-out/selloff? C2, right? In both cases a quartz "original" from which a very successful mechanical follow-up had already emerged (C20/C60).
Makes me wonder how long the C5Q has left? Or is it too iconic to drop as the "entry-level" CW? We would then have a situation where the only men's quartz watches are the chronographs.
Pity they never made a mechanical version of the C1...mind you, one or two people have been dropping hints. :-"

Time will tell, and we await 2012's releases with interest!

Perhaps the difference with the C5Q is that it was actually introduced several years after the C5 Auto. I imagine the C5Q was developed to fill a perceived gap in the market, and that it is therefore, part of the ongoing range?

Would have been in the sale surely if this was the case?

Not necessarily as it will depend on stocks held. Plus a bezel change will turn it into another model.

I wouldn't be suprised if the C6 was being retired, and, possibly, a new quartz version on the way??

The C60 Trident isn't really a replacement, more like a higher level (read auto :) ) stablemate!!

I've still got my T3 version, which I shall be hanging on to, unless someone comes up with an offer too good to turn down :)
