Custom shark strap on yellow C6

Post by Charlief »

I actually have had this strap for months and just noticed the strap section on the forum. This C6 is special to me because it's the first watch my wife bought me. After about a year of having it I wanted to set it apart from all the others. After looking on line I found stonecreekstraps.com

Jeanna was great to deal with. I wanted yellow and blue stitching to match the dial and second hand. I was told that she can find any color needed. I picked a black shark skin which is tough but supple at the same time. I specified my lengths.... how many holes I wanted...two keepers....satin deployment clasp... And quick change pins to finish it all off.

The shark is very unique and soft to the touch. I think it's a good match to the watch. It wasn't cheap but quality never is.

Very nice Charlie. Really 'classes up' what is a very casual diver, and certainly sets it apart from the pack. You said your goal was to set it apart, and I really think you have succeeded.

Very fine looking strap and do like the addition of the blue stitch to go with the seconds hand

I like the idea of the multi coloured stitching, not sure about the sharkskin to be honest.

Ya my thoughts in the beginning were towards gator. I have several watches with gator, eel, ostrich and elk straps. The shark is comparable in feel to a small grain gator. It's soft to the touch but wears like iron. With its satin finish its not glossy and has the look I wanted. Of course one of my closest hates it. LOL he thinks divers should be on steel or rubber.

in this state, is the shark skin waterproof?

e.g. can this be worn underwater with this strap on it?

I was told it could get wet but I don't think I would.
