Re: A polished shiny metal bracelet that I have brushed
Looks very professional.
Personally I prefer the polished shiny metal side. It's great that we're all different though.

I like it. So how do you do it properly as I'd like to have a go? Not saying you didn't do it properly you understand..... Not that keen on the bracelet on my C3 and it "may" look better brushed.

Nice one Laird, looks great. I have a few brushed pieces that need some TLC as well as a polished piece that may need the good news from a Scotchbrite pad.

Thanks Laird! You're a gent...The Laird wrote:Hi Everyone,
I thought that this photo may interest, Jack and also other forum members?
I am not a fan of polished shiny metal and often brush the shiny parts on watch heads and bracelets.
This is a bracelet that I brushed some time back. The photo shows it half finished, so as you can see the polished shiny side and the brushed side for comparison.
I used a green Scotchbrite pad and then finished it off with a red, finer pad for the final finish. It is quite easy to do, as long as you take your time and are careful. I think that the results aren't too bad?

Re: A polished shiny metal bracelet that I have brushed
That turned out well Laird. Now, does anyone have a picture of a brushed bracelet (or case) that they have polished? I'm curious as to how easy it is to polish a brushed finish, either to change the look of a watch, or in the event of brushing a bracelet and not liking the results.

Looks like a good job Laird. Nice work.
This takes a lot more work and is more easily done with a buffing wheel.Lavaine wrote:That turned out well Laird. Re: A polished shiny metal bracelet that I have brushed
My sentiments exactly, Laird. I just think the brushed look suits a tool watch better. I particularly don't get the two tone look as with my Hydroconquest .The Laird wrote:Hi,scooter wrote:Looks very professional.

You are too kind, sir.
It was for a diver's watch. I think that the brushed look gives the watch a more tool watch look.

Found this link from TZ-UK on doing a Bond bracelet which is quite hard. This is from Gingerboy who will do it for you (in exchange for some money).
