It would be between Damasko and Nomos for me - happy hunting!

neil8fletcher3 wrote:Thanks all I wasn't expecting such a mixed response, having thought about it some more I feel the Sinn may not be for me. I have found a Sinn 356 I really like but it's above budget by about £300 so unless I can find a used one I'm going to discount it. So it's currently between the Nomos and the Damasko with the Nomos slightly in front. I've found somewhere about 40 mins away which stock Nomos to try on but it looks like it's only page & cooper for the damasko but I do want to try both first.

I've looked at Junghans but they just don't grab my attention

The muhle is a good pick need to look into that in more detail

I've looked at defakto and do like the look of the stucktor

I'm not particularly hard on any of my watches with the exception of my first C3 Malvern which has had a harder life

At the moment in my eyes the Nomos is the clear leader but I'd like to see how the lug gap looks

I plan to use the watch as office wear and casual nothing strenuous for it but I do want to wear it and not baby it completely
Long lugs are Nomos's downfall. Sort it out and many more buyers. I must admit the gap needs plugging for me:

Manual. Automat doesn't have quickset date either so what's the point?

Is that about 48.75 lug to lug? Or that's what I've seen on worn&wound for it. Don't know why all manufactures don't list lug to lug with diameter and other measurements they show

Chronext were great for the Club 701. If you can find the discount TRAIN2016 (or something like that) even better deal.

I have the 36mm dunkel and honestly the long lugs don't bother me at all. After handling the 38.5mm handwound, I prefer the 36mm as feel it is more balanced.

Thanks Adam I've found one that takes off about £115 which makes the club 701 £665. I think for the the 36mm would be best for me as well

Wow that is a great deal at £665. It really is a stunner.

If I didn't find the dunkel I would definitely have the white version.

Here we go, a left field suggestion from a British/Swiss manufacturer, 38mn, vintage style (love the tall crystal) with a modern twist and comfortably within budget

Thanks Guy, I do actually really like this but I feel it's too similar to my Seiko SARB033 IMHO to order one. If it had numbers instead of batons I'd be very interested something similar to the JS Sif N.A.R.T. would be lovely if CW would consider it

Don;t know how much Stowa are selling for these days but they are fine watches for relatively small money.

Good suggestion I'd somehow forgot about Stowa the Antea looks great and comes with glass case back as standard

Spent a bit more time thinking this week now my c61 has sold ok. I've decided as nice as the damasko is its stretching the budget too far. The sinn has grown on me a lot after some research and both offer something different to what I have now. Budget is now max £750

Between these two currently
