It has definitely gone off topic!

This is a completely different type of diving now being discussed for which I don't know of any appropriate watch....

I think it's because there are a lot of them to choose from and that as a general rule, they look good in most circumstances.

That's also true for diver watches ;)

glad to see the pink kitty mentioned in this debate! the most macho and utilitarian watch mentioned so far......

i wonder if bezel choice and colours make divers attractive to people who see watches as 'jewellery'?

Leaving the MILFs to one side (which, as a happily married man, I feel I should), I agree with missF certainly from my own perspective and see watches as a type of jewellery or at least as one of the primary roles they fulfil, other than the functional telling of the time (I did actually use the chrono function on my new C70 VW4 last night to time my son's futsal match..quite proud of actually using all the complications of the watch for once!).

I do not wear any rings, chains etc and therefore the watch is the one and only piece of jewellery I will ever be sporting. The diver watches tend to be noticeable for the reason they can be larger, deeper case, coloured bezel etc. I was admiring my new C11 Titanium Extreme earlier in the week with it's big presence, standout green hands...what a big manly hunk of a watch I thought to myself...sadly probably more manly and hunky than me...ah well.

Thanks for that missF, I feel better now!

I'm sure you wear it well....a fine looking watch the C11 msl is...one of my favourite CW's.

I've always felt that discreet jewellery looks better. Especially with smart clothes. Dive watches go well with Hawaiian shirts and lairy Vilebrequin shorts, however.

I reckon the films were a bit exaggerated - going by the books I believe he wore something more like an earlier reference of one of these.

Would look far better with a suit or DJ than a Diver. :)

You can't see their lairy vilebrequin shorts in any of those shots...

Nick probably chose the exception that proves the rule there. Yes, I concede that a Submariner would be a good choice if your job consists of flying to some of the worlds more exotic locations, shooting villains, driving Astons, getting laid by beautiful women, visiting casinos and occasionally falling out of rather fast boats in your DJ.

Omega, on the other hand, did themselves no favours in my eyes when they started embossing the dials with 007 and little guns.

I'm sure I would be happy to wear a nice vintage Sub with my DJ if I had one. But other divers...I think not.
