Which one?
I have a significant birthday coming up soon and feel like treating myself.
I have narrowed down to two, I was thinking of a J & T Windmill, but decided against.
The two remaining are:
1. Omega speedmaster racing (new)
https://www.bankslyon.co.uk/omega-speed ... g-co-axial
2. IWC Pilot (pre owned)
https://www.bankslyon.co.uk/pre-owned-i ... ilot-watch.
I know enough of Omega to be confident in the Speedmaster, but, I know nothing at all about IWC. So, any comments Guys?
Cheers
Ian

Greetings,
Two different watches and thereby you have set yourself a nice problem to solve!
Personally it's the IWC, magnificent watches.

Re: Which one?
Ordinarily I might suggest the IWC (as I like pilot watches) but there's a strange mark on the top of the 5 o'clock lug and I really like the yellow accents on the Speedy to set it apart from the norm.

Yes I have seen the mark on the IWC. These are both in a jewellers only 40 or so miles from me, so, I will be paying a visit for inspection before a decision is made.

What he said. I gave you a big hint in your Windmills thread!Dancematt wrote:Keep looking.
Otherwise...speedy! Or IWC. They're both lovely.
No help at all, am I?

Whatever you buy, if you are buying from Banks Lyon, be sure to insist on a decent discount.

I see they are also a Cartier AD, so if you change your mind and want a decent watch...downer wrote:Whatever you buy, if you are buying from Banks Lyon, be sure to insist on a decent discount.

Re: Which one?
Out of those I would go for the IWC, but if I were you I would check out the new Mark XVIII Pilot from IWC.
Whatever you get be sure to try one on first!

Something that brings it down close to the Iconic price.Ian Mc wrote:What would be a decent discount..10-15-20%?downer wrote:Whatever you buy, if you are buying from Banks Lyon, be sure to insist on a decent discount.

Re: Which one?
Agreed. I would not necessarily expect an AD to match Iconic, but they should make an effort to close the gap. I have found BL accommodating in the past, and that was over the phone.nbg wrote:Something that brings it down close to the Iconic price.Ian Mc wrote:What would be a decent discount..10-15-20%?downer wrote:Whatever you buy, if you are buying from Banks Lyon, be sure to insist on a decent discount.

Re: Which one?
Go for the new Omega on this special occasion, it's always a greater feeling getting a brand new watch over a previous owner
