What’s your collection size?

Post by kev017 »

I appreciate that the number of watches a person has/wants to have is completely personal (taste, budget, etc.) but am curious to understand fellow forum members collection size (both current size and any imposed target/limit).

I bought a 10 slot watch box in a sale last year, without really giving much thought to the size. I now feel some internal need/desire to “fill it”. Partly driven by my Completer Finisher personality. I’m tempted to reduce back to a 6 slot and employ a “one-in-one out” principle that would allow me to slowly upgrade my collection over time.

So one slot spare, I’m on the prowl to fill it

That Pete is the correct answer! :)

My mother in law once asked me how many watches I owned!

good Q.

i'm down to 21 after buying one and selling 5, but two of those are still on the block. there are a couple of other crappy old precollecting watches with so little value they're not worth selling or counting in my collection, i just don't know what to do w/them.

I’ve got my three watch collection, which is made up of two watches. The other watches don’t count if anyone asks.

Unless one of them counts as the third watch in my collection, then my other watch collection is one less than it used to be.

My other collection can therefore go up and down depending on whether any of them are in my three watch collection or not. Which makes putting an exact number on this difficult.

Hence I’m not able to confirm at this point how many there are……..

On the contrary, my Girlfriend / Partner knows exactly how many watches I have, + or - a couple, believes I have an obsession and periodically reminds me that 'you only need one watch'.

Bit of 'pot calling kettle black' there as she has half a dozen or so, most of which I've bought her. :-k :-k

i'm lucky enough that my wife has been an enabler. i have four watches she's bought for me. aqua terra, c60 jag FLE, helson blackbeard, and a magrette (that's on the chopping block). plus she bought me the machinist chest that all my watches and paraphernalia are in.
