What do you think about Panerai ?
Re: What do you think about Panerai ?
Not for me, remind me of large expensive nonstick saucepans. Sorry if I have upset anyone.

If it's a trade for watches you no longer wear and you'd wear the PAM then seems you'd be daft not to.

Phil, I was concerned about this trade. Panerai has never been a brand I considered before. But due to the circumstances I think the deal is very nice and this particularly model (Pam 119) is an interesting watch.

Re: What do you think about Panerai ?
I never considered a Panerai before since I thought they were all 45mm monsters with strange crown guards.. But they are quite nice and some have 3 or 8 day power reserves which interest me. The Radiomir is more to my liking, and I am happy with my Alpha homage. A real one would be great in 40mm.
Just be sure and don't "pull a scooter" and regret the trade later.

The 40mm pams are just the same quality etc as their larger brothers. If you are toying with the idea of chucking in a few watches for one, then to be honest I would say go for it. It is a strange experience owning one as they are so instantly recognisable to those in the know and so different to those who are not, that you will get no end of comments. The world of customisation is an addictive one, and you cannot own any Panerai without getting involved. The Paneristi are also probably the most involved and proud owners of any watch brand (CWL excepted).
Yes they are expensive, many brands are, but you are truly buying into the whole experience, and few who have ever handled one are not blown away by the quality (if not by the design!)
Oh, by the way, they are also probably one of of the most "marmite" brands on the planet!

That's a good deal. And the day you want to sell it, it's easy.

That is a long way of saying anal....smegwina wrote: The Paneristi are also probably the most involved and proud owners of any watch brand
OP- if you have a few cheaper watches that you don't wear and you will wear the Pam,then go for it. I wouldn't personally pay for a Pam but I am not averse to the Radiomirs....another option is Timefactors PRS20
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

I tried on a base model a few years ago and I was impressed with the quality. I am not all that familiar with the names though so just looked up this model and I think It's a great looking watch. Go for it.

Get one! I have a ltd edition (only 100 made) and it's awesome. Had to go to Italy to get it though!!!
I don't see too many of them either but when you do you can tell its a pam!
The other good thing about Pam's is the leather strap options ..... They are endless! And totally change the look and feel of a watch instantly.

Re: What do you think about Panerai ?
I have to agree with many others "GET ONE".
I was in Budapest last week and tried the 1950's limited edition - super.
However, looking for a "lefty", they did offer me a super price on a 44mm lefty,
although they would have to order one in.
I was impressed, nice simple face and superb quality to boot...but hey, we are all different
