What a present!

Post by Amor Vincit Omnia »

Quick lunchtime pics...amazing end-of-year present from all the parents of my "Class of '13".
1883 English fusee lever PW - 55mm - very heavy
Stunning condition - winds and sets beautifully and keeping time well. More later, but for now, take a look!

Aw, that's a beauty. Have to say I also love the box. That's a great gift. My daughter (also a teacher) finishes tomorrow. Wonder what she'll come home with! Nothing like that I'm sure.

It is lovely, but of course you cannot accept it; teaching is a calling and accepting reward for it would serve only to cheapen it.

You will have to send it to me for disposal ;)

wow indeed - that is a fantastic present - you have trained them amazingly well!

you must be chuffed - not just with the present - but because it speaks volumes about the regard the children have for you - not only do they value you enough to want to get a serious present, but they really thought through what you would want - fab...

lovely and interesting watch.

and the box is a bonus (i have an odd soft spot for antique boxes).

and not just the regard the kids have for you, but the fact that the parents obviously feel that way as well.
the "g" is for Greg...

a stunning ,beautiful watch, the dial looks spectacular very classic/elegant with its bold roman numerals and enamel background .case and movement have fine engraving you just don't see today .it must now hold a lot of sentimental value for you AVO, in years to come you will look back on the class of 13 with very fond memories and maybe bring a little tear to your eye in your moment of nostalgia.im very happy for you ,lovely kids and parents it was very nice of them to get you such a nice timepiece it must feel great to be truly appreciated.

Hi Steve

What a delightful watch and gesture

Its nice amidst all the sale carnage (of which i have to admit i have been part of  ) to see a post picturing a genuinely considered gift from others to show appreciation of your time and effort
The watch itself looks extremely elegant and the presentation box is no doubt unique

Enjoy :)
