Watches you wish were smaller

Post by Tyke »

Having a quiet evening browsing the bay & have come across several interesting watches, including this one with a lovely ripple pattern face

Image[/URL]

The only snag - 50mm diameter & 16mm thick! It might look okay on Popeye, but for the rest of us it's just waaaaayyy too big. Shame as it will probably go at a reasonable price. :(

Seen loads of others for 45mm+ as well which so the makers obviously think there are an army of giant muscular watch wearers to tap into.

Well watchmakers of the world  any chance of stuff like this for normal sized wrists?

C8, C11, Breitling SOH (38mm now discontinued), Omega PO, PAM's and all the various homages (including my Magrette Bronze).

Many others I can't think of off the top of my head..

I'd like to see most of the Steinharts in smaller versions, very much doubt it's going to happen, though.

Obviously going for the American market as those guys seem to be getting bigger every time I go over. I like it - it makes me look thin standing next to them. :D

Fashion is encouraging society to make value judgements about a man based on the size of his watch!

Perhaps there should be a thread entitled "What does your watch say about YOU?" :problem:
