An odd description/breakdown of this ‘watch!’
WM Watch Welly Merck Automatic Mechanical Watches Men Lunar Watch Moon Phase Sapphire Waterproof Man Luminous Twin Moons Watch
Anyone know what a ‘sapphire waterproof man’ looks like?

Looks ok for the money, some parts of it might even roll out of the same factory as CW.
Re: Welly Merck. Homage, or Too Close
I hadn't noticed the watch before yesterday but a few days ago there was a posting on WUS (from the company owner, I suppose), wondering about an alternative name to Welly Merck.

AliX? If you want the look of a particular watch, if you can't bring yourself to pay original brand prices, it's the place to go.
I read that the old-fashioned idea of buying a new car based on country of manufacture, heritage, aspiration is rapidly becoming a thing of the past and EV from China are increasingly the thing: they look like nothing else but, in effect, folks are buying on price.
Whisper it quietly but who doesn't buy something on price alone?

"Welly Merck"? And some people used to complain about having "Christoper Ward" on their watch.
I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

Something like “You’d need to be on drugs to buy one of these”albionphoto wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 12:09 pm And Merck the pharmaceutical company might have something to say too

Iain’s Law: Any discussion on the Christopher Ward forum, irrespective of the thread title or subject matter, will eventually lead to someone mentioning the Bel Canto if the thread continues for long enough.

Looks like they sniped the Lympstone too.
EDIT to add: I was curious and looked up a recent review. They even ripped the light catcher. Although it looks like a crappy black IP coating instead of the gunmetal of the CW. And it has a butterfly clasp.

I suppose that once the "design team" have bought a photocopier, they may as well get as much use out if as they can.Looks like they sniped the Lympstone too

The reviews almost had me spitting soda out of my nose It reads like bad translation software.

Well, I don't want a lympstone but I could live with the branding on the clomage version. I wouldn't even recognise that it was a reference to a CW watch, as I'm just not familiar with the lympstone.
It's the branding on the moonphase that I don't like, as there's nothing else to detract from the word brand.

I’d say “homage” is pretty generous for that one!
