Views on Cheapo Amazon Purchase

Post by highway62 »

Ok, I have in my possession a £25 Amazon voucher. I am looking to spend it on a watch, BUT, I want the £25 to make up an appreciable proportion of the purchase price . The watch has to be either automatic or eco-drive.

Suggestions please.

Option 3 - Orient Mako for £99 (still 25% off price)

Or

Thank you Mr Blyth. :)

Of course I have searched, but as usual some watches might have slipped past without due notice. Of the ones you have pointed out both the 'stealth' Citizen and the Mako are strong contenders.

Top end price £120

no restrictions on style given the relatively low purchase cost. Just the auto or eco-drive stipulation

At that price I would have thought it would be a day/night 24 hour dial rather than a moonphase.

Don't think a Breytenbach is really a likely purchase.

Going by this 1, for £55.00 it shows it as a moon phase with the 29.5 day rotation. ok this 1 is a quartz tho.

I am with you on that one. But look at the others they have this moonphase, admittedly quartz, but it is a Swiss Ronda movement. Since CWL already use Ronda that may be a good candidate for a CWL moonphase but with a nice design.

Hi

The Benedick watch looks most like something worthwhile at that price imo

Highway- knowing your preference for decent looking watches, I reckon you are approaching this in the wrong frame of mind. Let's not look for cheapo watches for you. Instead, lets look for 'cost efficient' ones eh?

How about the rose gold Engelhardt Men's Automatic here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Engelhardt-Auto ... 21&sr=1-73.

Or, for a total change in collection direction what about this Alessi here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Alessi-Gents-Wa ... 8&sr=1-122

Or what about this Junkers here http://www.amazon.co.uk/Junkers-Automat ... 8&sr=1-373

or if you fancy a bit of role play during the weekend, how about this one here http://www.amazon.co.uk/MWC-Submariner- ... 1&sr=1-395

Actually. I know what would really sort you out. Just buy this one and tell everyone it is a Rugby World Cup official..http://www.amazon.co.uk/Perigaum-1972-A ... 1&sr=1-443

If you like it, the Seiko 5 would appear to be a complete no-brainer at 83% off!
