This is a chronometer, and it is automatic. The man has a 100% rating with more than 2000 delighted customers on ebay. Can they all be nuts ? Get real.

Welcome to the "Asylum" Beezer. It would seem we are a little testy for our first post.

This topic would be more about the watch than the man, although some concerns were mentioned. In the final analysis I think it came down to did John wish to take a chance on this watch and believe what was being stated or believe what he was looking at. Regardless of where this piece was built it says it is a chrono. I see only date dials as well as a date and day indicator. I do not see where this is a chronometer and I question why the redundancy of the dates. Regardless of wether it is Russian or Chinese this doesn't make sense to me. If the implication is that it is a certified COSC type chrono, then now I have to question the seller regardless of how happy his customers have been. Happiness can be if I am buying a piece like this and get exactly what I expect...a watch that will last 12 months and look good doing it.

Are they all nuts...don't know...but we are!

They act as unofficial agents and buy when they have a buyer. Therefore they don't have to fork out for an expensive stock holding.

It would cost more to have it certified as a chronometer than the watch costs to buy.

i wrote the guy...

Hi

None of our watches are certified chronometers.

The Vaan Konrad range was designed and created here in the UK in 2005.

Originally we sourced the movements from Russia as we had sold Vostok, Poljot and Molnija watches for some years, and the cases and packaging were made in China. However, in 2007 production moved completely to China where 90% of the worlds watches are now produced. After an extensive search we found a well respected mechanical watch movement company who makes movements for some of the better known non Swiss brands on the market, non Swiss makes being those such as Emporio Armani, D&G, Fossil, Michael Kors etc.

Final quality control checks & testing is still done here in the UK on all VK models.

Please rest assured that we take great pride in producing great quality watches with great design at great prices.

We hope you will visit us again in the future.

Thank you again for your enquiry.

Best regards

Now i'm stuck at work late and i'm bored so i was wondering why this old thread was brought back to life....

We have two previous single post members whos only post was in this thread in defense of the mentioned brand:

Kormic46 who joined Aug 22 2008,posted and hasn't been back since Aug 25th 2008
beezer who joined Sep 14 2008,posted and then hasn't been seen since then, also Sept 14 2008

Then, with a out of the blue post above, sjons.....with another post supporting the brand.

I'm bored, tired, cynical and dreaming of a pint...i'll leave you to your own thoughts 8)
If you can read this you are too close to your computer screen....

These look like they are straight out of the Millionsmart catalogue. £60-80 may be a bit steep, certainly for me.

To be fair, this forum is hardly the place to be promoting such tat. The members of this venerable place are of good taste and wouldn't be interested in this crap.

Then again, virtually everyone on here has a Monster, so I suppose you've only yourselves to blame! :-D

Just my little joke, the Monster is a quality watch but just not to my taste aesthetically!

The way these guys get Rolex, Omega, Patek etc. even though they are not authorized dealers is that they get them from jewelers who are authorized dealers who want to rotate their stock but cannot put these watches on sale because as Factory Authorized Merchants, their license agreements prevent them from putting the watches on sale or selling them on line so they consign them to the ebay dealers. It's all about price control. I'm thrilled about saving $1,000 off the retail price but not paying about $600 in sales tax really gets me off!
Yeah, but if you didn't pay $600 sales tax for your overpriced (and probably stolen / fake) Rolex then who would pay for all the teachers and doctors and nuclear bombs? You make baby Jesus sad.

I purchased the Vaan Konrad automatic "Expellion" model and love it! It works wonderfully. I have had many compliments about the watch. It is a beautiful looking piece and looks so much more expensive than it costs. I would have no problem recommending this watch to anyone interested in it. Service, delivery (fast) and communication during the purchase was great. Great seller.
