Last year, I wrote this…
general-discussion/gmt-potential-unpopu ... 62091.html
Just over a year later, after seeing this when convincing myself that a heap of money on a 20 year old Explorer 2 was a stupid idea followed by frantically watching videos, reading reviews, watching more videos and browsing everywhere for owner-pictures, I decided that this was definitely what I needed. Happy to admit I’m in the wrong on this occasion. I am better educated on the subject of GMT watches though, and this being a “true” GMT was part of the attraction. That, and the way it looks, obviously.

How're you liking the steel bezel?
The Steel BB42 is on my list, I'm just not sure how I feel about it...

You wouldn't have gone wrong either way with the Explorer II or the Tudor Pro. Both are excellent watches. My preference overall would still be the 5 digit Explorer II but having worn both many times you won't regret the purchase. Congrats!

Congratulations! I’m glad the pro-GMT caucus talked you round.

I think a steel bezel is a very attractive look.
I know what you saying about the GMT bezel. I bought a C60 GMT in the July sale at a very good price. However I decided that the white fully lumed numbers were a little too bright, and have returned it. I don't think I would feel the same way about the more understated look of your Tudor.

Upon first glance, it looks great. There are a couple of marks which were really fairly described by the seller. To be honest, he made them sound a lot worse than they are. I'll wear it for a few days and report back.VelvetThunder wrote: ↑Thu Aug 29, 2024 1:48 pm How're you liking the steel bezel?

It was a 5 digit reference that I was looking at; 16570 with the black dial, but pound for pound I couldn't justify the cost. The BB Pro was about 43% cheaper than retail and a decent 16570 with box and papers was over three times the price that the BB came up for.

Top notch acquisition.
I have my Tudor P-01 which similarly has a steel bezel, albeit it's not a GMT. A surprisingly attractive watch none the less.
Enjoy wearing yours.
