I didn't like the TRI-02 at all based on the website photographs (the colour scheme just did nothing for me), but literally every photo I've seen online over the past couple of days (both here and the Facebook group) have had me seriously reconsidering that - genuinely think it looks brilliant in the pictures above and sorely tempted to order one to compliment the TRI-03 I've got coming!

^^^^ The deployant looks like it has a rudimentary ratchet adjustment on the fly, with the second pair of pushers, except it looks identical to the type used by Elliot Brown i.e. they are robust and clunky.

Fine on an Outdoor / Adventure / Tool watch but I'll advocate a bit heavy duty for the likes of a Tribus. Isn't it?

I think the cases are sized at 41mm. The bracelets are very good aren't they, albeit no QR clasp. Just push pins, but I prefer them to pin and collar.
I thought your watch was gunmetal at first, but on reflection, I think it's SS isn't it? I went for the TRI-03, but that does look good.
@JAFO was the above responding to me? I’ll answer anyway! Guy has just asked a related question.

Mine is SS, and the clasp has a quick adjust - squeeze the rear buttons, and pull the clasp end out - you can see the ratchet teeth when extended.

I was hoping the bracelet would have QR spring bars like the current CW bracelets but no. Nonetheless, a very nice quality bracelet.

Yes it was to you. I don't quote posts if I can avoid it, as the threads get do long. I like The WUS forum that shows a small piece of a quoted post, and you can expand it if you want to rea it all. Anyway, you said "at 40mm it wears big", but I was just noting that they actually claim 41mm. I also wasn't sure whether you had SS or gunmetal. I thought it was SS, but wasn't 100%. Yes I find the bracelet system very friendly, and the leather straps are good quality, although for the same money I would take a CW cordovan.

And the discount made the bracelet just £30 more than the leather which is Downers Law writ large.

I just had a look. There's hardly any left now. 2 MDS and a few chronometers. I wish they would hurry up and go. I just can't buy another one.

That’s exactly what went through my mind…..

BTW if you quote a thread, you can delete the bits not relevant to your comment, as I’ve done here.

TRI-04 arrived today…bang on time! Quite impressed for £475. As has been said here, very well packaged in a good quality presentation box. Small criticism is that somebody could have give it a wipe before packing it as it the case/glass was smeared to hell. I’ll be keeping it.

Unfortunately mine is going back. The rotating bezel doesn't quite lock in place which as well as being useless for tracking a third timezone really bugs my OCD🤣

They were really quick to respond and offer to repair or replace though.

Which colour did you pick? I ask because I have the black on SS. I really like the watch, but at times I find that in certain lights the text running from 9 across to 3 - chronometer and Tribus can resemble additional hands, and it's just hard to tell the time on a five handed watch, without turning the watch around to catch the light differently.

Hi I have the gun/cream/camel the hands and indices are also gun metal I don't have a problem telling the time at any position because
the hands are not polished and give great clarity.I really like the watch and it hasn't lost a second in the 24hrs I've been wearing it

Received my TRI-03 yesterday, so thought I'd share a few thoughts after the first (almost) 24 hours (I posted on the Facebook group yesterday, but figured I'd keep it 'on wrist' a bit longer before posting here, where there's a bit more space to write).

Let me preface this by pointing out that I am a complete n00b when it comes to premium watches - this is my first mechanical watch, and all my other quartz watches were sub £300. I therefore don't write this from any position of knowledge or authority on watches!

First impressions (after removing from the bin-bag, aka standard Royal Mail grey packing envelope...) The box the watches come in is very nice - they have a real premium feel, without being too big/awkward.
When I removed the watch from the box two things struck me - firstly, the leather strap looked horribly stiff and deformed from being wrapped around the plastic watch-shape-holder-thing (does this part of a box have a proper name  ) - I'll talk more about the strap in a bit... Secondly, reading the time was difficult as the stainless steel hands were black against a black dial (again, let me come back to this before assuming this is a negative review!)

With the watch out though I was pleasantly surprised by the dial and case - this feels like a really well put together watch - yes there's vertical brushing between the lugs, but it's not noticeable without looking for it, and the rest of the case design is lovely in my opinion - well proportioned and finished. The crown feels good, with no play when unscrewed and the watch winds smoothly (again I'll point out I have no point of reference, but I feel the kind of light resistance that I'd expect winding a watch - it certainly doesn't feel 'gritty', as I think another poster called out with theirs).

The crystal does have loads of distortion around the edges, but I think that goes with the vintage styling - looked at straight on this can be a bit disconcerting, but when glanced at from any other angle it's frankly gorgeous - I love the way it makes the chapter ring change as rolled around.
PXL_20211126_094634529.jpg
Let's get back to those stainless steel hands - as I mentioned, when I first unboxed the watch I just couldn't see them, and genuinely worried if I'd made a mistake! But in daylight they're super easy to see, and whilst they definitely can be hard to see in some lighting, a quick tilt of the wrist is usually all that's required to make them super clear - they have an amazing mirror effect so under some lights the hands and indices look truly spectacular.

The strap however is definitely a less positive piece - forgive me, but I don't think anything stamped 'genuine leather' has any place on a watch with an RRP around £1500 (for perspective, I owned a leather-strapped smartwatch 5 or so years ago that had a strap that was made of far higher quality leather, and that came in at under £400 total...). The strap is stiff, but to give it it's due, it is comfortable enough and I love the chunky buckle - still, given how easy it is to change a watch strap (especially with quick release spring bars) it's hard to be too harsh on the overall watch for this one point.
PXL_20211125_152143579.PORTRAIT.jpg

Overall then? I'm pretty happy with my purchase - I may be a bit more critical if I'd paid full price for the watch (and I had been watching the TRI-01 as a potential future buy, even before the mad sale was announced) but at 70% off I definitely think I've got a decent deal and I'll be hanging onto this - the watch is simply gorgeous and I'm loving looking down at it and seeing that smooth sweep of the seconds hand and the way it all plays in the light. It's kept great time so far over the first 24 hours, so hopefully it'll keep on doing so for many years to come.

@Stif.

I already posted this, but I will repeat a couple of things, and support your comments. I have to say, I feel pretty much the same. First off, I do like the watch, indeed love it. The winding and crown action is supersmooth, and the power meter is a great complication. Closing the screw down crown is easy, the best watch I have by far. The movement looks nicely decorated too. I find the watch is less accurate as the PR drops. It gains 1 to 2 spd, but the PR had dropped to under a quarter, and its now about 10seconds slow. I didn't notice the issue with the hands until I'd worn it, but as the light drops, it becomes very hard to read. You can't see this in your picture, but with a quick glance I even see the word marks in white at 9 and 3 ("chronometer" and "tribus"), as extra hands, and the indices and sub dial hands confuse time telling, eg, when a hand lines up along an index baton. It looks likes there's at least 5 hands sometimes. There's no lume either. Finally, I think the straps are good straps, but the standalone strap price is £120 and that's expensive. It's much more than CW leather, and even slightly more than CW cordovan leather. Still, all in all the watch is excellent value at 30% of list price, and in some ways with this monochrome colour scheme reminds me of the speedmaster.

@borderman noted above he had a different colour, and didn't get the silver hands problem. My son bought a black and gold one (our Christmas present to him, we agreed). He loves it, and the gold hands are nothing like as confusing as the silver ones.
