You haven’t accidentally bought the Hanhart that’s for sale in sales corner have you?

An interesting concept that, Iain. Buy my own watch.

No; I haven't.

You might say that, as I'd not been able to sell the one I have in the Sales Corner, I decided to buy a second to keep it company.

Congrats, Guy. Hanhart are a great brand, loads of heritage. You DO like a BIG watch don’t ya! 44mm and 15mm deep. No 36mm’s for you. 😂😂😂

Some pictures added below of my Hanhart Primus Desert Pilot Dark LE ## of 100 from August 2021.

Bit of a beast (as Ryan has already pointed out) with 44mm Bezel, although the case curves inwards to about 40mm on the wrist. 54mm lug-2-lug with articulated lugs. 24mm lug width.

The black pouch is for an EDC hunting / field knife (no photo) as part of the LE package.

No wrist shot yet as the strap is an OE Medium which is shorter than I need, and I'm ordering a Long from Hanhart. In the meantime, I'm sure I will be able to find something suitable in my Straps boxes.

and full spec from Hanhart

Finally, how come I bought it?

I'd seen the regular steel version in the metal about 7+ years ago but it was out of reach. Recently, I asked James at Kibble Watches to sell my Bremont #ProjectPossible for me, which he successfully did.

Having e-mailed to me about this I foolishly took a look at what was available on his website and the Hanhart Primus popped up at an attractive price. I shouldn't need to explain the rest.

Very nice Guy. The only other watch I’ve seen other than my Oris with articulating lugs. Should make for a great fit.

Cheers, Dwight.

The articulated lugs are interesting, the theory being that they allow a watch to wrap around the wrist better than a conventional design.

However, when I first tries a Primus Desert Pilot on some years ago, I felt that the articulated lugs allowed the watch, which is reasonably hefty, to flop about too much. I ruled it out at the time, despite on paper really wanting to like it.

Roll forward to earlier this year and my purchase of a Tudor Black Bay Heritage P-01, which has extended and articulated lugs, that I bought without trying it and not really considering the articulated lugs.

I swiftly found, after a bit of twiddling with the fitting of a strap, that it worked for me and that it was really comfortable. I bore this in mind when the Hanhart popped up.

That's a stunner Guy, and absolutely screams your name when I see it! (I hope that comes across as a compliment, that's definitely how I intend it!)

Love the depth of the chapter ring and the open hands!

Congratulations!
