I do wear my watch over my clothes when I'm skiing. Much easier to just take off a glove and loosen the jacket cuff than pull up multiple layers of clothes to see the time.
That is a really really ugly jacket Amleto. Orage, and probably others, do make jackets with a small watch window covered by a velcro'ed flap. They look much better than this, and the watch window is not obviuos.
