The "what watch gave you nightmares" thread

Agreed... Although not explicitly stated, I suspect Richard's intent was more along the lines of your suggestion. Then again, not a mind reader; maybe he just wants some nightmare inducing bedtime reading and any old tat will do...

As above, I have to disagree on this one. In part at least. :)

Oddly, the only watch that has given me nightmares is the (rather lovely) GP I bought when my mother died.....thought I'd have a permanent memento on my wrist. :problem:
Sadly it has been totally unreliable and has cost FAR more than the (high) purchase price in repairs over the last 16 years, but sentiment drives me to keep it and wear it. The nightmares are mainly from listening to a tirade of "good money after bad" from a close female relative......while, infuriatingly, the quartz driven Cartier she bought at the same time and for the same reason has been perfectly reliable.
Oh, except for when I washed her jeans with the Tank Française in the pocket......

the dated bracelet
That bracelet is the most comfortable one in my collection. If it had the micro adjustment that it deserves, it would be darn near perfect. Sure it's not exactly a new design, but neither are most of us!

I was thinking of a thread that was basically the opposite of the "dreaming" thread. But it's always interesting to hear people's opinions on watches, so the scope is wide open. :D

For me it's the new Nomos LE. I have a strong dislike for most Nomos watches as they're so boring, but this one manages to look terrible as well. For some reason its very existance raised philosophical questions about the futility of life - truly the stuff of nightmares.

I fear seeing anything from this brand out of the corner of my eye in a shop.

I rather like this dial but its that fugly thing they stick on the side of their watches. Graham, FFS stop it.

Fashion/Style/Design is a funny thing - I don't think mere age alone is enough to make something 'dated'.

Things can be old but not necessarily look dated, so as to always seem to be 'current' e.g. the tuxedo, Porsche 911, Submariner, old school Adidas trainers, whereas others come to look naff with time e.g. mullet hairstyles, suits with massive shoulder pads, woodchip wallpaper etc.
