Totally agree, although I'd choose the white dial.jkbarnes wrote: ↑Sat Jan 21, 2023 4:51 pm The thread about the Fears/CW collaboration has put that brand on my radar. Now the Brunswick is stuck in my head as a potential retirement watch! I like everything about it and the heritage associated with the company.

And, in addition to the Fears Brunswick (see earlier post), I'm also loving the Vertex M-100A. Similar story behind the brand to Fears, too -- both companies rekindled by descendants of the original founders. Love the fact that Vertex was also the only British-made watch out of the original Dirty Dozen.

I wished, my watch had an Alarm function today.
This has, and I love the look.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
^^^^I have been looking for an alarm watch it seems for ever. Finding one with a day/date is next to impossible. But that is very tempting. The search continues. After all, what else would I do when it’s -20F outside?

Time and money? I’ve spent most of mine on booze and women. The rest I just wasted…

How about this??

I made an offer for just a bit less so I could get under the duty amount to the US and got a snarky response about how he has expenses. I thought it was a fair offer considering the damage to the bezel at 3 o’clock. Still listed 6 months later, and the price has gone up.

Dream watch? Dunno. But.
Cartier will lose no sleep that I'm not the biggest fan of the 'Tank Normal/Tank Louis". Plenty of folks are.
Big Santos lover, with reservations about actually owning one...polished bezel, blah de blah.
If those two had a love child it would probably look like the new 2023 Tank Francaise.
The Large is mostly brushed, automatic (SW100 variation) has a tiny date window but (thin) applied markers. Quite unreasonably, I really like it. Sacrebleu.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Meanwhile, back in the Swiss – Cuban department, everyone knows I like a nice GMT and this one is certainly a bit different. It has two movements so it’s capable of coping with South Asian and Australian offsets.
At 3ATM water resistance, it’s not suitable for a beach holiday, but it wouldn’t look bad swanning around in a posh hotel. I’ve always said I don’t like brown dials, but oddly enough this one looks quite sophisticated.
Not really for me I think, but something interesting to muse on. It’s totally bonkers and a bit of a mess but I can’t help liking it in a quirky, left-field sort of way.

^^^ Touché, Nigel. I keep telling myself “No more watches”, but if I did…CyS would be high on the list. Just very different from the rather sober styles I normally prefer.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I am certain I wouldn’t wear any of these, but I do like them. I am a fan of the brand; I bought a Buceador Coral Negro in December, and I am at a point in my watch journey that new purchases must be sufficiently different to my existing brood. The good thing about CyS is they have a number of distinct lines, with their own styles, each exhibiting the Latin flair which caught my eye in the first place.Amor Vincit Omnia wrote: ↑Sat Feb 04, 2023 10:25 am It’s totally bonkers and a bit of a mess but I can’t help liking it in a quirky, left-field sort of way.
