Beautiful watch.... but, if I was in the market for this particular model I'd probably end up buying the Speedy First Watch On The Moon for less than half the money.atnits wrote:That looks v nice indeed.blowfish89 wrote:Is this sexy or what ? ^Tetlee, I am exactly the opposite. I would not buy a Speedmaster or a Submariner, but I would buy that JLC if I had the money. It captures the best of both, well, except the odd 21mm lug width and the unsigned crown (seriously, why?)
It is somewhat of an oddball watch, with that leather strap on a "deep sea" diver. But it would be so great to not worry about water resistance and having a dive-certified watch without a screw down crown or pushers. The small circle is also pretty unique, at first, its a power reserve.

I saw this whilst casually browsing, Longines's SwissAir edition Chronograph No 3:

The closest thing they have in the current lineup is the Heritage Military Chronograph:

I can't remember who now, but a fellow member here has this watch, or at least one of the 3 versions available (I think that's right).blowfish89 wrote:Is this sexy or what ? I think a good one do-it-all watch, but wonder why the crown is not signed.

the 21mm is "off" for standard watch strap standards. most standard replacement straps are in the 20 and 22mm sizes. for 21mm, you're much more limited.
the "g" is for Greg...
Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
Agree with you about the lug sizes Greg, but I will add that my Balls all have 21mm lug widths and all have 22mm straps.gwells wrote:the 21mm is "off" for standard watch strap standards. most standard replacement straps are in the 20 and 22mm sizes. for 21mm, you're much more limited.
With the exception of bracelets, I have never had a problem putting a 22mm leather or rubber strap on a 21mm watch.

Why is a 21mm lug odd?

Sorry missed this. I guess you're right but had never thought about it as an issue, as I have yet to seek a replacement 21mm strap! The DSOTM is 21mm.gwells wrote:the 21mm is "off" for standard watch strap standards. most standard replacement straps are in the 20 and 22mm sizes. for 21mm, you're much more limited.

You will be fine with 22mm leather and rubber straps on the 21mm lugs.Caller wrote:Sorry missed this. Seriously thinking about this one - another German, 38.5mm case

Case sounds a good size guessing Tourby
