I think this is probably the right thread for these musings. I had to run an errand at lunchtime which took me right next to a lovely watch shop window, so I was checking out the Longines Spirit Zulu Time in the window - the proportions look great up close, so I'm now desperate to try one on... but I really wanted to look a window or two along at their selection of Hamilton's as for a while I've thought I'd love to add a Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical to my collection, specifically this one:

I love the simplicity of this and a nice plain (quality) Nato looks perfect on it (it's one watch where I don't understand why a bracelet is even an option! )

...and they're priced so keenly it's hard to not just jump in...

Mine keeps fantastic time, lasts the advertised three days on a full wind, suits a range of straps and wears really comfortably. Often some decent discounts around on them too.

Whilst in the Omega Boutique today I had a look at one of these. Like you do...
Anyhow, De Ville Tresor in Sedna Gold with clous de Paris dial. You have to see it in the metal, made me go weak at the knees...

Hands-on EBEL Is Bringing Back Its Emblematic 1911 With The New 1911 Marine Watch
First launched in 1986, the EBEL 1911 now makes a grand return to the company's portfolio.
EBEL-1911-Marine-Featured-2048x1365.jpg
Originally launched in 1986 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the brand, the EBEL 1911 has long been a flagship model of the brand. After re-launching its Sports Classic collection in 2017 (with its signature wave-shaped bracelet), the brand now brings back the emblematic 1911, with several quartz-powered ladies’ and gents’ watches and an aquatic take on the model featuring a mechanical movement. Here’s our first experience with the new EBEL 1911 Marine.

I have the watch already. Just daydreaming about recreating the shot. I’ve only been back from Greece a day and getting Mediterranean withdrawal symptoms. 12 weeks and counting until Christmas in Cyprus!

Oh lovely. My bank balance is grateful that it’s a little big to consider! Why are Ebel not more popular?

^^^^^ Finally someone has aligned the numerals in a 4.30 date window so they line up for left handed watch wearers.
