I think Tag nailed it with this design, I know they've taken lots of current market trend cues and thrown them all in but it does come together very well. IIRC Calibre 5 is a Sellita 200 base but worked over and COSC.

I had a bit of an Autavia thing but now only have 3 (11630, cy2111, O2 LE) and had said no more. I keep returning to the calibre 5 bronze/green so I tried one on (for research purposes only of course) and it looked very good on the wrist. Not succumbed though!

This has been catching my eye quite a bit lately. Rose gold with the rhodium dial. A bit gaudy, but I’d love it I think. Bought a lottery ticket today so we’ll see how it shakes out

Not gaudy, imo. Actually, rather the opposite I think. The dark rhodium gives it a rather understated aura.
Good luck with the lottery!

I'd rock the shizzle out of that, Granted i'd be too scared to wear it out of the house but around the house i'd be the Big pimp daddy.

Funny to see the spectrum here. Gaudiness is in the eye of the beholder! My opinion lies somewhere in between your two.

And you develop an encyclopaedic knowledge of everyone’s first name and collection! :D

PS. That’s a compliment, Guy, because I’m useless at both, especially remembering who has what watches.

Don’t look at the usual Omega serial numbers & production date lists for a Speedmaster - their serial numbers follow a totally different sequence. I’ve compiled a list for you which may be of help…

Year Serial Numbers

Hope this helps…
Unfortunately you didn't go back far enough for my birth year :D
Hang on, I can make up some negative numbers for the imaginary pre-1957 Speedy. I can go back as far as you need that way. ImageImage
