A 512 or 620 but just not sure if I would get away with the 42mm case size.

Paul you could get away with wearing one of those.
Like all watch choices it’s a personal call.
The 512 is the closest I have come to buying a Panerai. Another near miss being a 42mm Submersible.
There are plenty with a wrist the same size or smaller who are happy to wear a 42mm or 44mm PAM.
Equally there are plenty with a slightly larger wrist, who still can’t get over the all dial style.
I know someone who used to view anything over 40mm as too big for his liking. IIRC he now has 3 or 4 Panerai, including the larger ones.
As to the 512, just imagine wearing a C11, with about 2mm off the lug to lug.

I'm not sure if you are referring to me in the quote above. However I can say that I sold my 39 Oyster Perpetual, my Omega Seamaster and my 6 digit Submariner because they were all too big.
Now I own 5 Panerai. 2 47mm, 1 45mm and 2 44mm. Love them all and love wearing them all. I find the 44mm Luminors a great size, the 45mm Radiomir feels almost like a dress watch being relatively thin and lightweight.

I was indeed Mark.
Although I haven’t looked on Instagram much lately and hadn’t realised you now have five.
I do like your pics.
This morning I was looking at pics and a video of a 687.Thinking could I?

I love that you sold a 40mm sub for being too large but now have a couple of 47mm PAMs!
You are a bona fide ‘risti

It does sound a bit barmy but... it's not just the size. It's how it sits, how it feels on the wrist and how it makes you feel. I would classify myself as a 'risti

That's indeed a looker - not sure about the style of the bracelet. On my quest for color(still looking for something with either a white, green or brown dial), I still have the 556 on my long list.
