Fabulous looking watch from the front, but when I glanced at the rear view, I thought I was looking at a very early quartz movement. Then the brain recognised what components The eyes were *actually* looking at, but sadly the impression still lingers.watchaholic wrote:

Wow! What an impressive caseback view!
From an engineering viewpoint you've got to wonder about the stability of the small single-sided bridges. Looks like they are pinning the bridge anchors and then screwing down.

I’m sure they have worked it out, Rich. At the prices they charge one would hope so!

Not dreaming about, but I do like the look of the recently announced Oris Movember.

^^^agreed. If I didn't have the grey version I'd definitely be interested.

That does indeed look very nice indeed. The colour tone is appealing. Oris rarely seem to put a foot wrong to me.
Cheers now, Paul

Looking at a pre-Christmas purchase of one of these but not sure which, so will take a few weeks to mull them over.
The Halios would be a pain to source though so they could fall out of contention

I think the little Farer is a stunning little dress watch style watch. My favourite is the white dial with blue sub dial, I think it’s called the Stanhope.sproughton wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 11:19 am Looking at a pre-Christmas purchase of one of these but not sure which, so will take a few weeks to mull them over.

I really like the Farer, although the white textured dial with the applied numerals and markers would be my pick.sproughton wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 11:19 am Looking at a pre-Christmas purchase of one of these but not sure which, so will take a few weeks to mull them over.

I was eyeing up the purchase of it before you offered up your Tangente

This is the decision for the replacement (one in, one out is easier to justify!)StrappedUp wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 1:08 pmI really like the Farer, although the white textured dial with the applied numerals and markers would be my pick.sproughton wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 11:19 am Looking at a pre-Christmas purchase of one of these but not sure which, so will take a few weeks to mull them over.

Haven't done any shopping around, but the Seiko can be had with a reasonable discount from First Class Watches (£683). I sold mine as I felt the dial was too plasticky from some angles in bright light due to the textured dial. I still have the SBDC053 on bracelet which may go into SC at some stage.sproughton wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 11:19 am Looking at a pre-Christmas purchase of one of these but not sure which, so will take a few weeks to mull them over.
