So I might get this aluminium bezel rather than ceramic and more wallet friendly price

Not sure why the link doesn't work but its definitely there.

I did a national search for "ward watch" and it appeared.

"http://www.gumtree.com/p/watches/steinh ... 1309700891"

If you copy and paste it'll get you there.

I have my big dreams (which will probably take the next 2-3 decades) in the Blue/Black GMT-Master, Patek Calatrava, and Lange 1. More recently (and applicably within the next couple of years) I've been eyeballing the C65 Trident Vintage, the size and simplicity appeal to me a lot...I didn't think I would like it but over time I think that has changed a lot. Also the Panerai PAM574 appeals to me, and I never thought I would want a Panerai.

Well I have a few I am dreaming about, 2 that are attainable in the next few months and 2 that will have to wait for a while longer one of which might never come to fruition. Can you guess which one may never see the light of day ?

The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread

Post by gaf1958 »

Seiko’s first quartz powered dive watch was the 7548, a watch I’ve had a small collection of for maybe the last 15 years or so... They’re widely available in black/black and in navy blue dial with Pepsi bezel. Less commonly seen in orange. I’ve owned examples of all of these and currently have black and orange examples.

I know that there is a very, very rare variant with a green dial. They’re so rare that I’ve only ever read about their existence; I’ve never seen one for sale in all that time. Until today. Priced at a stratospheric US$2,500, I can only say I’m firmly in the dreaming camp on this one.

As much as I like a good 7548, that’s way beyond the realm of what I’m prepared to pay for one. I will however be interested to see if it sells - and how long it takes to sell...

My dream is a perpetual calendar with only counters.

To my knowledge there’s only one : the Glasgütte Original Senator Perpetual.
I love the old models with only bâton indexes and not the new ones with Roman numerals. I would hesitate about the dial color between white and grey.

I rather fancy one of these, but there are so many other watches around that I don’t know if that fancy will ever turn into a purchase...

I like Farer chronographes. But I would be worried to be tired of the design quite quickly. And the price is quite high.

Both?

Maybe not quite. Guess you will be able to buy it for <£100 and, when you get bored with it, sell for <£50.

More importantly, a cheap way to try the style / size and see if you want to buy a more expensive version e.g. Smiths, Rolex et al.
