Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
^^ If you want blue, look for the SBGJ225 Kasuri Asia LE. Only 250 pieces though, compared with 700 of the '227.

Not quite.StrappedUp wrote:
^^^ As far as I'm aware, Tag have always had an integrated bracelet arrangement on the Link series.
Granted, the new one has a lugless design, but the previous model also had the fixed center link.

The more recent models however, have gone from the groove to an actual conventional end link that integrates with the link bracelet, but removes to allow a standard strap to be fitted to them.
For me, much of the appeal of the Link series is in that beautiful bracelet (I’ve owned about eight of them over the years) but the added flexibility was welcome.
This is the only Link I still own, but the lug/bracelet is representative of most of recent times...

Thanks for that Gary. Learn something new on the forum each day!
You are right re. flexibility, but it's all about the bracelet ... especially on the new model. It's a corker!!

Whilst I do have a RG watch, I don’t think I am really ready for a full monty solid RG Rolex on solid RG Bracelet. It does however look more subtle than YG and stood out no more on my wrist than SS would do on someone who has a fair complexion.golfjunky wrote:Go for it, looks brilliant.
The only problems I can see with having one are:
- price
- availability
- marriage
- paranoia that someone would recognise what it was
But I did rather like it in a blinged up sort of way. Guess I will stick to just dreaming that I am wearing one, sat on a quiet beach with sand between my toes, sipping a beer.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
My two 'daydreaming' watches at the moment are:
SBGJ227

and
SLA017

both of which are too expensive. The GS will be typically well made, but I think the main attraction is the dial. The SLA017 is an excellent size and design, but does seem pricey for what it is.
Perhaps this is a compromise?
SBDC059/SPB081

Or maybe it's time to go full on green with the SLA019

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
A friend has the SLA017 and I tried it for a day and in all honesty I wasn't that impressed with it for the money. I've had LOADS os Seiko watches from the £60 - £6k+ range and the SLA017 honestly didn't feel anything special to me (apologies to anyone who has one, this is just my opinion of course
). When I put on a Grand Seiko I see straight away it's a high quality watch with the way it looks and feels. Same with the Marine Master, etc it just feels "right". I just didn't get that with the SLA017......it felt like a nice watch but not in the price bracket it's in (again, for me!)

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I am mostly dreaming about this right now,

It went in for a repair under 60/60 as the crown would intermittently 'slip' when giving a wind after setting the time / date, its been gone for 4 weeks now and I am happy for it to be away as long as it takes to get fixed, but I miss it even more than I thought I would!

One of these;-

Often been impressed with the Broad Arrow and it will provide a good accompaniment to my Moonwatch (perhaps).
