I'm liking Panerai a bit more than I first thought I did. I think the Radiomir without the crown guard would be more my thing though.

You can pre-order them now, same price as the current BB.

You are stepping into dangereous fields mate. If you get hooked up there is no way back :)

Jokes aside, I hear you. Radiomir models are beautiful too, but not as popular as the crown guard ones. I must admit that the crown guard makes it look bulky, but it's very comfortable to wear and give that unique look to them.

I was wearing mine on Wednesday, pic below, interesting enough, I always get complements when I have it on, from people that know Panerai, but also from people that never saw one before.Image

I hear you about the popularity of the Luminor model, the crown guard certainly does give it the distinctive Panerai look.

I'd like to try one on at some point as I haven't handled one to date. I previously dismissed the brand but I now think it's worth more of a look.

^^^^ That PAM00911 looks rather good, a lovely shade of green for the dial, but unfortunately at 44mm too large for me. I do like like a few of the newer 42mm slimmer Duo models, but I have always thought if I did get a Panerai, I would wear it swimming, but the 30m WR on the Duo makes that a non starter.

Both nice looking watches, but I must admit the one at the back has me wondering.... A GMT with chrono push buttons, but only one subdial. It’s interesting.

Very interesting look watches. I don't think I've seen that brand before.

Been around for a while ;) but went bust in the mid nineties. Restarted about ten years later by a Dodane (I believe he’s a direct descendent of the original Dodane) and have been producing watches since. They make some interesting watches.

The Dodane site http://www.dodane1857.com/collection/ty ... pe-23-gmt/ says

"The watch TYPE 23 GMT is equipped with GMT function (the second time zone), essential for travelers and a date is indicated at 6. The movement Dubois Depraz 312 allows facilitating the setting of a local time with the possibility of changing new hour very quickly with the push-buttons without no crown manipulation."

In other words the Type 23 GMT looks like a Chronograph but isn't.
