This:

It's the Rolex OP Day Date 40 (mm) in white gold. An unrealistic £27,650. Maybe one day they'll do it in steel and it will be slightly more in reach :problem:

^^^^^ They are splendid watches, but if they decided to make them in steel, they would have some seriously pi***d off customers who were owners of one of the gold versions.

I was trying to ensure that Patrick didn't get his hopes up! :)

I think the big difference is the Gold Skydweller doesn't seem to be a great seller, whereas the Day Date on a President bracelet is the Rolex signature "I have arrived" watch, with the benefit that at a glance other people may think it's a strange Datejust.

Understated in WG or Platinum, but bling if full YG/RG on a bracelet.

I appreciate the concern

At £27k, it's not going to happen but it is a beautiful watch and not too blingy as you say. It's good to dream :)

i'm sure if you consolidated your collection and then sold a few body parts you could get one easily - remember, we have plenty of paired organs and limbs - we only 'need' one!
watching you fail in your quest for a “one watch” has been great entertainment

^^^It's food for thought but I think I'll keep all my body parts, I'm quite attached to them (groan!)
