If not a Black Bay steel how about a Fortis? I've been eyeing up the white faced version with a ceramic bezel but it also comes in steel as well as with a black face if you prefer. Pic of white faced steel below.Bahnstormer_vRS wrote:Something with a Steel Bezel.

Having just put my Speedy Moonwatch on leather I quite fancy a Wally Schirra FOIS now!

Good shout. I do like the Fortis, have posted about them before in this thread.Mr Broadside wrote:If not a Black Bay steel how about a Fortis? Page and Cooper have currently got an ex-display Fortis Classic Cosmonauts Chronograph Steel p.m. which I quite like.
Unfortunately further collection consolidation would be required, which I'm not currently in the mood for.
My current dreams are for something with a bit of Heritage (style).

Wow. Just had a quick look on Page and Cooper. Fortis prices have been slashed out here in Oz and are actually quite a bit cheaper. The steel bezel is around the equivalent of £1500 brand new over here.

A lot of Page & Cooper's watches, notably Sinn, Damasko, Fortis and Hanhart have been hit by the recent exchange rate changes and lowering of GBP value.Mr Broadside wrote:Wow. However, Fortis have for some time been subject to heavy discounting by some (mostly USA) retailers. Page & Cooper are, though, not only approved dealers for Fortis watches, but their UK agent and aftersales centre.

I have been reading up on this one and just love the singularity of design ethos.

Re: The "what watch are you day dreaming about now" thread
I don't have a pic but at a meeting today, i was chatting to one of our older ops managers, a guy c 60. He was wearing a 1964 Navitimer which he said he got given when he was 18 and had owned ever since. Was in really good original condition, suspect worth a few £K's now as well. A sensible size too, looked about 40-42mm maybe. Must have been massive in its day.

^^ it was one of these which seem to go for between £3-4k depending on condition. Very nice wearable vintage at 41mm.
